Johnny Maloney was born in 1989, in Houston Texas. His creative life began studying filmmaking at the prestigious, Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia. After graduating he worked as a freelance filmmaker creating a plethora of music clips, short films and corporate videos.

Always a deep lover and appreciator of art, it wasn't until an ill fated skateboarding trip left Johnny bedridden, that he finally picked up his paint brushes. This new creative outlet was a revelation, and while stuck in Melbourne's lockdowns, he began painting the world around him, ultimately selling a number of these works online.

He has since exhibited in several group shows, art fairs and a solo exhibition in Melbourne, before moving back to Houston at the beginning of 2023. Currently he is studying painting at the Glassell School of Art
